Grand annual car boot sale on the banks of the Cher near Tours
The Larçay car boot sale is held each year on the beautiful Cher riverbanks esplanade, offering a natural and shaded setting for exhibitors and visitors. Individuals offer a wide selection of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, dishes, tools, small furniture, trinkets, childcare equipment, and various finds. The festival committee ensures logistics with its usual professionalism, offering a lunch meal and a refreshment stand throughout the day.
Larçay is a residential commune of about 2,500 inhabitants, nestled in the Cher Valley, just eight kilometers southeast of Tours. The village is known for its Gallo-Roman aqueduct, its walking trails along the Cher, and its preserved living environment between hillsides and river. The Saint-Symphorien church and troglodyte heritage complete the heritage appeal of this small Touraine commune.
The car boot sale is traditionally accompanied by a trout fishing competition in the Cher, adding a festive dimension to the day. Admission is free for visitors, and parking is easy around the esplanade.
