Labastide-Clermont, a bastide between Garonne and hills

Labastide-Clermont is an old bastide founded in the Middle Ages, as evidenced by its typical name from the southwest of France. The village, which covers 14.6 km² at an average altitude of 292 meters, is part of the Cœur de Garonne community of communes, in the canton of Cazères, about 50 km southwest of Toulouse. Surrounded by the communes of Bois-de-la-Pierre, Savères, and Gratens, Labastide-Clermont offers a preserved rural setting between the Garonne valley and the first Gascon hills.

The inhabitants, called Labastidiens and Clermontais, maintain an active community life under the direction of Mayor Pierre-Alain Dintilhac.
