Annual car boot sale at the foot of the UNESCO Royal Saltworks
Arc-et-Senans (25610) is a village in the Doubs region with around 1,400 inhabitants, whose international fame is due to the Royal Saltworks designed by the visionary architect Claude-Nicolas Ledoux in the 18th century. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982, this major architectural work attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world each year. It is in this exceptional setting that the association Les Amis du Petit Prince organizes its annual car boot sale.
The association Les Amis du Petit Prince is closely linked to the public school of Arc-et-Senans. Through cultural activities and events like this car boot sale, the association supports the educational projects and school trips of the village children. The organization of the annual car boot sale is one of the main sources of association funding, enabling the financing of film screenings, school trips, and cultural workshops.
The car boot sale of the Friends of the Little Prince is generally held on the second Sunday of April, in Arc-et-Senans. Exhibitors are welcomed from 6 am for setup, and the market is open to the public from 8 am to 6 pm. With its location in immediate proximity to the Royal Saltworks, the car boot sale offers visitors the unique opportunity to combine a morning of treasure hunting with a visit to this unmissable architectural site.
Located 32 km southwest of Besançon and 30 km east of Dole, Arc-et-Senans is accessible via the national road 83. The Arc-et-Senans TER train station, 100 meters from the Royal Saltworks, also allows you to get there by train from Besançon or Dijon. The village is surrounded by the Forêt de Chaux, one of the largest state-owned forests in France, ideal for walks after your treasure hunt.
