Every June, the village of Arlay hosts a large car boot sale organized by the Foyer Rural. The event takes place at the stadium and on rue de la Rigole, offering a comfortable space for 100 exhibitor spots and a pleasant stroll for visitors.

100 exhibitors in a wine-growing village

Arlay is a village in the Côte du Jura, nestled between vineyards and plains. Its car boot sale attracts bargain hunters from all over the Lons-le-Saunier area and the Jura Bresse region every year. The 100 private exhibitors offer a wide variety of second-hand items: crockery, trinkets, toys, clothes, books, tools, and small furniture.

A village of character

Arlay has a rich heritage with the ruins of its medieval castle and its 18th-century castle surrounded by vineyards classified as Côtes du Jura appellation. The car boot sale is a great opportunity to discover this village of character, wander through its streets, and taste the local wines after your bargain hunt: vin jaune, savagnin, chardonnay, or crémant du Jura.

Exhibitor registration

A 5 linear meter spot is offered at a price of 10 euros. Registration is done on-site with presentation of an identity card. The day runs from 8 am to 7 pm, with a refreshment bar and light catering provided by the volunteers of the Foyer Rural.

The Arlay car boot sale benefits from a remarkable wine-growing environment. The village is renowned for its Château d'Arlay, considered the oldest fortified castle in Franche-Comté, whose medieval ruins overlook a vineyard with the Côtes du Jura appellation. After the bargain hunt, visitors can extend their day with a tasting of local wines — vin jaune, savagnin, chardonnay, or macvin — in the village's cellars and estates. The peaceful setting of the Seille valley adds to the serenity of this summer flea market day.
