An associative tradition in the service of solidarity

Every June, the Amicale des Anciens Sapeurs-Pompiers de l'Aude organizes its annual car boot sale on the Cours de la République in Castelnaudary. This event, rooted in the associative tradition of the capital of Cassoulet, allows many private exhibitors to give a second life to their objects while supporting the local firefighters' association.

The Cours de la République, heart of Castelnaudary

The Cours de la République is the main street of Castelnaudary (11400), the sub-prefecture of Castelnaudary arrondissement and the capital of Lauragais. This lively avenue, lined with plane trees and shops, regularly hosts public events. During the firefighters' car boot sale, the entire avenue is transformed into a long aisle of colorful and lively stalls.

Organization and practical arrangements

Pitches are offered at €10 for 7 linear meters, which is a very accessible price for private exhibitors. Coffee is offered to all exhibitors in the early morning. A refreshment stand is available on site for visitors and exhibitors throughout the day. Exhibitor setup begins early in the morning.

Castelnaudary, capital of Cassoulet

Castelnaudary is a town of about 12,000 inhabitants, known worldwide for its cassoulet, a traditional dish made of white beans and confit meat. Capital of Lauragais, this town in the Aude department is crossed by the Canal du Midi, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The firefighters' car boot sale is part of the rich cultural and associative life of this town of character.

Beyond the sale

The Firefighters' Car boot sale is also an opportunity to support local firefighters and their association, whose volunteer work is invaluable to the life of the community. By participating as an exhibitor or visitor, you directly contribute to this beautiful tradition of solidarity.
