The Domme Car boot sale: treasure hunting in one of France's most beautiful bastides

Every spring, the Public Garden of Domme hosts a car boot sale organized by the Amicale Laïque Domme Cénac. This charity event, with profits going to the students of Cénac and Domme, takes place in an exceptional natural and heritage setting, at the top of the cliff overlooking the Dordogne valley.

The Public Garden: a balcony over the Dordogne valley

The Public Garden of Domme offers one of the most spectacular panoramas of the Périgord Noir. From its terraces, the view encompasses the Dordogne valley, the meanders of the river, the villages of La Roque-Gageac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle, and the wooded cliffs of the Périgord. The car boot sale stands are set up in this unique setting, among the shaded paths of the garden, creating a bucolic and serene atmosphere for treasure hunting.

Domme, a royal bastide from the 13th century

Founded in 1281 by Philippe le Hardi, Domme is a royal bastide perched on a rocky promontory 150 meters above the Dordogne. The town has retained its ramparts, its fortified gates, its market hall with stone pillars, and its medieval houses. Classified among the most beautiful villages in France, Domme is also known for its stalactite cave accessible from the Place de la Halle. The village attracts thousands of visitors each year, seduced by the beauty of its streets and the vastness of its panoramas.

A solidarity and friendly event

The Amicale Laïque Domme Cénac organizes this car boot sale in a spirit of solidarity and friendliness. The profits are used to finance school trips and activities for the classes of Cénac and Domme. A bar and a pastry stand are run by volunteers, allowing visitors to eat while supporting local schools.

Practical information

The car boot sale is held in the Public Garden of Domme, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pitches: €3 for 2 meters. Tables available: €2 (3 m) or €1 (2 m). Registration by email or phone before May 15th.
