The Comiac Car Boot Sale

Comiac is a village in the Lot (46190), located in the north of the department, on the borders of Quercy and Corrèze, in the Sousceyrac-en-Quercy sector. This territory of wooded hills and deep valleys offers wild and preserved landscapes, far from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Comiac, with its few hundred inhabitants, perpetuates a tradition of authentic rural life.

A Car Boot Sale on August 15th

Every year, for the Assumption Day holiday on August 15th, the association Vivre à Comiac organizes a car boot sale in the Place de l'Église. This summer day is a highlight of village life: private sellers and visitors meet to clear out their attics and cellars, offering everyday items, clothes, books, toys, crockery, and trinkets. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, in the tradition of Quercy village festivals.

Organization and Welcome

The association Vivre à Comiac ensures the careful organization of the event, offering refreshments and light meals for exhibitors and visitors throughout the day. Toilets are available on site. Entry is free for visitors. The car boot sale takes place outdoors in the Place de l'Église, in a setting of old stones typical of Quercy.

The North of the Lot, a Preserved Territory

The Comiac area is located in the Pays de Sousceyrac, in the high Ségala region of the Lot. This region of green hills, chestnut forests, and bocage landscapes contrasts with the causses of the south of the department. Nature lovers will appreciate the marked hiking trails and the wild landscapes of this little-visited area. Figeac is accessible about forty kilometers to the south, and Aurillac about fifty kilometers to the northeast.

Access

Comiac is accessible from Figeac (about 40 km south) via the D673, and from Aurillac (about 50 km northeast). Parking is available around the village church.
