Annual car boot sale in this wine-growing village of the Jurassian Revermont
Cesancey is a small wine-growing village of about 380 inhabitants, located in the Jurassian Revermont, between Lons-le-Saunier and Bletterans. Nestled at the foot of the first Jura slopes, the village benefits from a pleasant natural setting, between vineyards and orchards, conducive to a day of outdoor treasure hunting.
The annual Cesancey car boot sale is a typical village event, where residents and individuals from neighboring towns come to offer the items they wish to part with: toys, clothes, crockery, small furniture, books, and trinkets. The atmosphere is relaxed and the prices are low, making it a popular event for families.
The Cesancey area is part of the Côtes du Jura appellation, famous for its white wines, its yellow wine, and its Crémant du Jura. A visit to the car boot sale can be combined with a discovery of the region's wine cellars, thus offering a full day of treasure hunting and tasting in this authentic terroir of Franche-Comté.
