A car boot sale at the heart of Quimper's solidarity

Every June, the Dan-Ar-Braz hall, rue Stang-Bihan in Quimper, hosts the car boot sale organized for the benefit of the Céline et Stéphane Leucémie Espoir Pays Glazik association. This charitable event, driven by committed volunteers, brings together individuals wanting to clear out their attics and bargain hunters looking for good deals, in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The Céline et Stéphane Leucémie Espoir Pays Glazik association is a local non-profit organization whose goal is to support research against leukemia and to provide aid and hope to patients and families affected by this disease. Pays Glazik refers to the area around Quimper, formerly populated by a Breton community speaking Glazik, a variant of Cornouish Breton. This strong territorial anchor gives the association a very marked local dimension and rootedness.

Every euro collected during the car boot sale is directly donated to the cause. Revenue comes from table rentals to exhibitors and visitor entry fees. Volunteering ensures the organization, logistics, and on-site reception.

An event open to all

The car boot sale takes place from 9 AM to 6 PM. Exhibitors – individuals and professionals – offer clothing, toys, books, crockery, decorative items, appliances, vinyl records, and all sorts of second-hand items. Visitors can enter for €1 (free entry for under 16s), a modest sum that directly contributes to the association's funds.

For exhibitors wishing to have a stall, a 1.5-meter table is available for €9. Reservations can be made by contacting the organizers by phone or email. The friendly atmosphere and the setting of the Dan-Ar-Braz hall, easily accessible in the city center of Quimper, make it a popular event for all residents of the Pays Glazik.
