Along the Arize, the river that gives its name to the commune and the community of communes, the village of Campagne-sur-Arize hosts its car boot sale every year. This popular gathering brings together exhibitors and visitors in this village of 300 inhabitants, at an altitude of 367 meters in the plains and hills of the Ariège foothills.

Campagne-sur-Arize (09350) is a commune of the Arize-Lèze Communities of Communes, fully integrated into the perimeter of the Regional Natural Park of the Ariège Pyrenees. The village covers 13.34 km² in an area of meadows and forests crossed by the Arize river and several tributary streams.

The commune is mainly dedicated to agriculture and forestry, with about twenty active farms. Its immediate neighbors — Daumazan-sur-Arize, Les Bordes-sur-Arize, and Castéras — form with Campagne a group of authentic rural villages in the Ariège plain at the foot of the Pyrenees. The commune has been governed by Jean-Claude Commenge since 2020.
