Car boot sale and craft market in the small village of Castagnède, in Comminges
Every year in June, the small village of Castagnède organizes a car boot sale combined with a craft market. In this hamlet of 172 inhabitants, the event takes on a particularly friendly dimension: private sellers and local artisans mingle in the village streets to offer visitors second-hand items and local craft creations.
Castagnède is a rural commune in Comminges, located 22 km from Saint-Gaudens and 72 km southwest of Toulouse. The village covers only 3.3 km² in a hilly landscape between meadows and groves, typical of the Pyrenean foothills. Its inhabitants, the Castagnétois, maintain an authentic village life in this preserved corner of Haute-Garonne, on the borders of Gers and Hautes-Pyrénées.
The Castagnède car boot sale is a human-sized event, far from the large city flea markets. This is precisely what makes it charming: in a neighborly atmosphere, treasure hunters rummage through stalls looking for clothes, toys, trinkets, and various objects, while artisans present their local productions. The craft market complements the offer with original creations and local products.
Visiting the Castagnède car boot sale also means discovering a typical village of Comminges, with its stone houses, slate roofs, and rural environment at the foot of the Pyrenees. Entry is free and parking is easy in this small village. Castagnède is accessible from Saint-Gaudens via the D117.
From Saint-Gaudens, take the D117 towards Saint-Girons. Castagnède is about 22 km south of Saint-Gaudens.
Free parking in the village.
