Autumn flea market car boot sale in the center of the Norman Venice
In October, when the trees of the Norman Venice are adorned with their autumnal colors, Pont-Audemer hosts its autumn flea market car boot sale. This second annual flea market event, which complements the June event, offers treasure hunters a particularly photogenic setting: the reflections of the half-timbered houses in the branches of the Risle take on ochre and gold hues that transform the city into an impressionist painting.
The October edition benefits from a different atmosphere than that of June. The last warmth of the Norman Indian summer or the nascent coolness of autumn give this day of treasure hunting a special tone. The exhibitors—individuals emptying their attics before winter and regular flea market dealers—offer their goods in a city center that is quieter than during the peak tourist season, providing a more intimate and relaxed experience.
With a flea market in June and another in October, Pont-Audemer asserts itself as one of the most active cities in the department in terms of flea markets. Added to these two events is the May Foire à tout (type 170), making the city one of the most frequented flea market sites in the Eure throughout the year.
The Norman Venice owes this multiple attraction to its exceptional heritage: listed medieval streets, half-timbered houses from the 15th-17th centuries, multiple branches of the Risle, terraced gardens, and the Saint-Ouen church with its 16th-century stained glass windows. This unique setting transforms every stroll into a heritage walk.
The 2026 autumn edition will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Exhibitors and visitors will meet in the streets of the historic city center for a day of treasure hunting under the golden hues of the Norman autumn.
