In the small village of Grangermont, in the heart of the Loiret, Ascension Thursday is synonymous with a big popular festival. The flea market-car boot sale-general sale that takes place here every year on the Route de la Roche des Plantes and the communal leisure area, at 27 rue de la Porte des Champs, has become over the years one of the most popular second-hand events in the department.

Over three hundred exhibitors at dawn

With over 300 exhibitors, the Grangermont general sale is a major event for a modestly sized village. Individuals and professionals set up from 4 am — or from Wednesday evening from 7 pm for those who wish to spend the night on site with the grounds guarded by a security agent and his dogs. Pitches, at a rate of €2 per linear meter, are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, with no reservation required.

A well-rehearsed organization for a successful day

The Grangermont Hunters' Association, organizer of this event, has developed a perfectly well-rehearsed organization over the years. The refreshment stand opens at 6 am, and catering is available all day to satisfy exhibitors and visitors. Entertainment runs through the aisles from 9 am to 5 pm to enhance the day. Large car parks accommodate visitors' vehicles outside the exhibition areas.

Grangermont, an authentic village in the heart of Gâtinais

Grangermont is a rural commune in the Loiret, in the Gâtinais region, on the border between Beauce and Gâtinais. Its name evokes the agricultural richness of a generous land. The village, modest in size, has become a major second-hand hub every Ascension thanks to the mobilization of its hunters and its inhabitants. This general sale reflects the associative vitality of the Loiret countryside and its ability to create popular and unifying events.

For exhibitors: practical arrangements

Private and professional exhibitors are welcome. Setup is on a first-come, first-served basis from Wednesday evening (7 pm) for those wishing to set up the day before, or from 4 am on Thursday morning. The rate is €2 per linear meter, no reservation needed. The exhibitor's vehicle is parked behind their stand. A coffee is offered to exhibitors upon opening.
