Grand charity flea market of the Lions Club Bourges Doyen at the Halle au Blé
Every spring, the Lions Club Bourges Doyen takes over the Halle au Blé, a magnificent 18th-century building located in the heart of Bourges, to host its grand charity flea market. Founded in 1955, the Lions Club Bourges Doyen is one of the oldest service clubs in the city and continues its social support missions through several annual events, of which this flea market is one of the most popular.
The Halle au Blé, located on rue Paul Commenge, is a historic building that once housed the grain trade. Today converted into an event space, it offers a covered and spacious setting, ideal for a flea market. Its vast volumes allow for many stalls to be set up in appreciable comfort, protected from the vagaries of the weather. Its immediate proximity to the Saint-Étienne Cathedral and the historic center makes this flea market a natural stop for visitors to Bourges.
All profits from the flea market are donated to the social and humanitarian works of the Lions Club Bourges Doyen. The club notably supports actions for sight, diabetes, food aid, and disadvantaged children. Hunting for treasures at the Lions Club flea market means combining the pleasure of discovery with a gesture of solidarity.
The flea market is held on the last Sunday of March, from 7 am to 6 pm, at the Halle au Blé (8 rue Paul Commenge, 18000 Bourges). Admission is free. Information from the Lions Club Bourges Doyen, Maison des Associations, 28 rue Gambon, 18000 Bourges.
