Annual flea market of the Entente Centre Ornain in the Parc des Luxembourg in Ligny-en-Barrois
The Entente Centre Ornain organizes its flea market every summer in the Parc Municipal des Luxembourg in Ligny-en-Barrois. This park, one of the largest in the Meuse department, offers an exceptional setting for a day of outdoor treasure hunting. Stalls are set up under ancient trees, along shaded paths, creating a unique atmosphere.
The Parc Municipal des Luxembourg dates back to the time of the Counts of Luxembourg, who made Ligny-en-Barrois one of their residences. Bordered by the Ornain, a tributary of the Saulx, this park offers vast lawns, walking paths, and remarkable tree heritage. Running races and flea markets are regularly held here, making the park a popular place for residents to live and enjoy leisure activities.
A small town of about 4,500 inhabitants, Ligny-en-Barrois is crossed by the Ornain and the Marne-Rhine canal. The city preserves the vestiges of its rich past: a medieval tower, ancient churches, and half-timbered houses. Its weekly market and cultural events animate this town in southern Meuse throughout the year.
