Summer evening flea market from 6:30 PM to 10 PM in the village of Aouste-sur-Sye, Drôme
Aouste-sur-Sye is a village in the Drôme region located on the banks of the Sye, a tributary of the Drôme, a few kilometers west of Crest. This peaceful village in the Drôme foothills hosts a particularly original evening flea market every summer, which takes place in the evening from 6:30 PM to 10 PM. This nighttime format, rare in the world of flea markets, gives the event a unique and festive atmosphere that contrasts with the usual daytime markets.
As evening falls, when the heat of the Drôme afternoon begins to subside, exhibitors set up their stalls and treasure hunters begin to wander between the illuminated stands. Lanterns, fairy lights, and improvised lighting create a Provençal night market ambiance, conducive to strolling and discoveries. Trinkets, clothes, tableware, books, and various objects take on a different color under the evening light.
Aouste-sur-Sye is an endearing commune in the Drôme, known for its medieval castle, its Romanesque church, and its landscapes of garrigue and limestone hills typical of the Drôme foothills. Located about ten kilometers from Crest towards Valence, it benefits from an accessible position that allows it to welcome visitors from all over the area.
The evening flea market is part of the commune's summer entertainment program, which aims to liven up its summer evenings and attract tourists staying in the valley. The evening format is particularly suitable for July and August, when the Drôme days are long and hot, and the evening becomes the best time to go out and stroll through the villages.
