Annual flea market in June in the center of the village of Massignac, Place de l'Église, in Charente Limousine
Every year in June, the village of Massignac hosts its annual flea market on the Place de l'Église, in the center of the village. This outdoor treasure hunting event brings together exhibitors from the Charente Limousine region for a friendly day in a peaceful rural setting, just a stone's throw from the magnificent Mas Chaban lake.
Massignac is a commune in the northeast of Charente, on the borders of Limousin. Its main attraction is the Mas Chaban lake, an artificial body of water of 200 hectares set in a landscape of wooded hills. This lake, which supplies drinking water to part of Charente, is also a popular spot for walks and fishing. The village itself, with its church and granite houses, bears witness to the typical architecture of this transition zone between Charente and Limousin.
The Brocante de Massignac retains a village feel appreciated by lovers of quiet treasure hunting. Exhibitors set up their stalls around the church and in the village square, offering furniture, tableware, trinkets, tools, and various objects. Exhibitors are welcomed from 6 a.m., and the day unfolds in a relaxed atmosphere, far from the hustle and bustle of large flea markets.
Visitors who come to Massignac for the flea market can extend their day with a walk around the Mas Chaban lake, whose landscaped banks offer remarkable views of the surrounding countryside. The commune also hosts a producers' market and various events organized by the local festival committee throughout the year.
