Monthly flea market and local produce market on Place Darche in Longwy-Haut
From May to October, Place Darche in Longwy-Haut comes alive each month to host the flea market and local produce market. This event, which has become a must-attend in Longwy life, brings together flea market exhibitors and local producers in a remarkable heritage setting, in the heart of the Vauban-fortified upper town.
The originality of this event lies in the combination of the traditional flea market and the local produce market. On one hand, bargain hunters find their happiness among antique objects, furniture, trinkets, books, and curiosities offered by the dealers. On the other hand, food lovers discover the flavors of the Lorraine region: cheeses, cured meats, honeys, jams, and other regional specialties. This mix creates a unique and festive atmosphere.
Place Darche, formerly Place d'Armes, is the heart of Longwy-Haut, the fortified upper town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site for the Vauban fortifications. This exceptional setting gives the flea market a special dimension, where strolling among the stalls is combined with architectural discovery. Visitors appreciate the unique atmosphere of this square surrounded by historic buildings.
Pitches are available at a rate of €2 per linear meter. Registration is with the Grand Longwy Tourist Office. The event is open to both professionals and individuals, whether for flea market items or local produce. The season runs from May to October, offering six monthly events for lovers of good deals and good products.
