Durtal, a flea market in the shadow of the castle

Durtal (49430) is a small town in Maine-et-Loire, in the Loir valley, about thirty kilometers north of Angers. Its 14th-16th century fortified castle, perched on a promontory overlooking the Loir, is one of the department's emblematic monuments. The town, crossed by the Loir and surrounded by forests, is a popular holiday destination whose international flea market is the annual highlight.
