The mythical flea market of Vieux-Nice, every Monday on the Cours Saleya
The Brocante du Cours Saleya is one of the most renowned flea markets on the French Riviera. Every Monday, around 150 professional exhibitors set up shop on the famous Cours Saleya, in the heart of Vieux-Nice, offering antiques, trinkets, old books, paintings, silverware, and curiosities. Located between the ochre facades and the Mediterranean Sea, this market attracts local bargain hunters and tourists from all over the world in an exceptional setting.
Every Monday morning, the Cours Saleya is transformed. The flower and fruit stalls that usually animate this famous promenade in Vieux-Nice give way to a vast flea market that has been delighting bargain hunters for decades. From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., around 150 professional exhibitors display their treasures on the eastern part of the cours, between Place Charles Félix and Place Pierre Gautier.
The setting of the Cours Saleya gives this flea market a unique charm. Lined by the colorful facades of the baroque buildings of Vieux-Nice on one side and the Mediterranean Sea on the other, the market unfolds under century-old plane trees. The terraces of the restaurants and cafes bordering the cours allow visitors to take a gourmet break between finds. The Chapelle de la Miséricorde, a jewel of Niçois baroque, has watched over the stalls since the 18th century.
The Brocante du Cours Saleya is distinguished by the quality of its exhibitors, all professionals. A wide range of items can be found: silverware, porcelain, glassware, paintings and prints, old books, Belle Époque postcards, vintage jewelry, Art Deco lighting, Provençal furniture, antique textiles, and all sorts of curiosities. Lovers of antique tableware, crystalware, and Provençal trinkets will find their happiness here. Prices range from very affordable to high-end, with always the possibility of negotiation.
The Cours Saleya has hosted markets since the 19th century. The tradition of the Monday flea market is part of this long commercial and social history. It is a meeting place for locals and visitors alike, a place where people come as much to hunt for treasures as to stroll, observe, and soak up the unique atmosphere of Vieux-Nice. The market is easily accessible on foot from the Promenade des Anglais or Place Masséna.
The Brocante du Cours Saleya takes place every Monday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., all year round in 2026. 150 professional exhibitors.
