Nearly 40 years of treasure hunting along the Marne
At the end of the 1980s, the Comité des Journées de Solidarité (CJS), founded in 1983 on the initiative of Michel Giraud, mayor of Le Perreux-sur-Marne, launched the first Brocante des Bords de Marne. Since then, this flagship event in the Perreuxian calendar has continued to grow into an unmissable autumn gathering in the Île-de-France region. In 2024, the association celebrated its 32nd edition – exceptional longevity reflecting the community's deep attachment to this event.
The setting is unique: stalls line the Marne riverbanks from Rue de la Prairie to Allée Guy Môquet in Le Perreux-sur-Marne (94170). With the Marne as a backdrop, the event creates a relaxed yet festive atmosphere perfect for browsing the stalls. Up to 400 vendors offer bric-a-brac, clothing, toys, books, furniture and all manner of objects.
The CJS is an entirely volunteer association – around 100 volunteers contribute to each edition without any paid staff. Revenue from pitch rentals and catering stands managed directly by the association is channelled back into solidarity activities supporting the most disadvantaged residents of the town.
