Every end of March, the rue Charles Martel in Château-Thierry comes alive with the spring car boot sale organized by the association Martel en Fête. This event, reserved for individuals from the town and its surroundings, offers an authentic and friendly atmosphere in one of the most emblematic towns in the south of the Aisne.

A neighborhood car boot sale

With 50 to 100 exhibitors, the spring flea market of Château-Thierry maintains a human-sized format. The sellers, all private individuals, offer the classic repertoire of a car boot sale: clothes, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, small furniture, and various objects. Exhibitors' cars are not allowed in their spots, ensuring smooth circulation for visitors.

Château-Thierry, homeland of La Fontaine

The birthplace of Jean de La Fontaine, Château-Thierry has a rich historical and cultural heritage. The medieval castle overlooking the Marne, the Jean de La Fontaine museum, and the old streets of the city center form a remarkable setting for this event. Treasure hunters can extend their visit by discovering this exceptional heritage.

Organization and services

The association Martel en Fête, named after the street hosting the event, ensures careful organization with refreshments, food, and toilets on site. The pitch fee is set at €3 per linear meter. Exhibitors can set up from 6 am for an opening to the public at 8 am.
