The Festival Committee is the association at the heart of Chouilly's festive life. Its volunteer members work throughout the year to organize events that liven up the village, and the June flea market is one of the key moments. The organization of this event mobilizes many volunteers, from setting up stalls to welcoming exhibitors and visitors, as well as catering and any entertainment.

Chouilly is a village on the Côte des Blancs, this east-facing slope bordering the Épernay vineyard to the south. Its Chardonnay vineyards, classified as Grand Cru, produce grapes of remarkable finesse, which are used in the prestigious blends of the great Champagne houses. The village is also known for the presence of the Nicolas Feuillatte cooperative, one of the largest in Champagne, which has its headquarters in the commune.

The June flea market in Chouilly offers the usual range of Champagne second-hand markets: country furniture, crockery and glassware, embroidered linens, books and magazines, old toys, wine and agricultural tools, trinkets, and curiosities. Exhibitors—a mix of local individuals and professional dealers—set up in the streets or the village square, creating an atmosphere of popular celebration in the heart of the vineyards.
