Every May 1st, the village of Belleau, in the south of Aisne, organizes its annual flea market on Place du Général Pershing. This historic site recalls the fighting of the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918, where American Marines distinguished themselves. The Festival Committee perpetuates this May 1st tradition by offering a friendly car boot sale open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
A specific feature of this flea market: it is strictly reserved for individuals. Professionals and sellers of food products are not accepted. Registration is mandatory and the first 5 meters are free, with additional meters charged at 3 euros.
