A car boot sale in the heart of a historic village

Every May 1st, the village of Belleau, in the south of Aisne, organizes its annual flea market on Place du Général Pershing. This historic site recalls the fighting of the Battle of Belleau Wood in June 1918, where American Marines distinguished themselves. The Festival Committee perpetuates this May 1st tradition by offering a friendly car boot sale open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An event reserved for individuals

A specific feature of this flea market: it is strictly reserved for individuals. Professionals and sellers of food products are not accepted. Registration is mandatory and the first 5 meters are free, with additional meters charged at 3 euros. This policy helps maintain the spirit of a true village car boot sale, with about sixty exhibitors.

Belleau, between memory and countryside

Located a few kilometers from Château-Thierry, Belleau is a peaceful village in the south of Aisne. The American cemetery and the Bois Belleau, key sites of memory of the First World War, attract visitors from all over the world. The May 1st flea market is part of the associative life of this village, with small catering and restrooms available for visitors.
