Easter Flea Market in Bélabre, village of La Brenne in the Indre
Every Easter Monday, the village of Bélabre (36370) comes alive with its traditional flea market. Exhibitors – professional dealers and private individuals – take over the square and the streets of the center to offer furniture, tableware, trinkets, tools, books, clothing, and various objects. The event marks the start of the flea market season in this area of southwestern Indre and attracts bargain hunters from La Brenne, neighboring Poitou, and Berry.
Bélabre is a commune of about 900 inhabitants located in the southwest of the Indre department, on the borders of La Brenne and Poitou. The village, crossed by the Anglin river, retains an interesting architectural heritage with its 15th-17th century castle, its church, and its old houses. Its proximity to the Regional Natural Park of La Brenne, a "land of a thousand ponds," and the Anglin valley with its prehistoric sites (Angles-sur-l'Anglin, Roc-aux-Sorciers) makes it an ideal starting point for nature and heritage excursions.
The Bélabre flea market is a friendly gathering that benefits from the pleasant setting of this village in Berry. Admission is free and the atmosphere is family-friendly. Visitors can extend their day with a walk along the Anglin river or an excursion to the ponds of La Brenne.
