Moreuil is a town of history, deeply marked by the First World War. Located on the front line during the great German offensive of spring 1918, it was the scene of violent fighting, notably the famous Battle of Moreuil Wood where Canadian cavalrymen of Lord Strathcona's Horse charged German positions on March 30, 1918. This tragic page left its mark on the urban landscape.
