Brocante organised by the 'classes en 2' age group in this Pierres Dorées Beaujolais village
Following the lively rural tradition of age-group celebrations, the residents born in a year ending in 2 organise their grand brocante and car boot sale each year in Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières. On Sunday 26 April 2026, animated stalls spread through the village offering antique furniture, crockery, clothing, books, tools, decorative objects and all manner of bric-a-brac. The 'classes en 2' brocante is much more than a simple market: it is a festive gathering weaving bonds between generations and families from the village and surrounding area, in the finest Beaujolais tradition.
Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières is a charming wine-growing village in the Beaujolais des Pierres Dorées, midway between Villefranche-sur-Saône and the Azergues valley. This territory takes its name from the warm golden colour of the local limestone used to build most of the houses and vineyard walls that so characterise the landscapes of this region. The village is surrounded by vineyards producing renowned Beaujolais wines and enjoys an exceptional natural and heritage setting. Its vibrant associative life, embodied by these age-group celebrations and numerous local events, makes it a living example of the dynamism of rural communities in northern Rhône.
Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières is accessible from Villefranche-sur-Saône via the D19 and D38 departmental roads. From Lyon, allow approximately 40 minutes by road via the N6 and D38. Parking available in the village.
