Every year in June, the small village of Chartuzac, nestled in the heart of Haute-Saintonge in Charente-Maritime, hosts its annual flea market. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes, this event transforms the Salle des Fêtes square into a vast open-air treasure market, attracting bargain hunters and collectors from the region.

100 to 200 exhibitors and free pitches

The unique feature of the Chartuzac flea market is the complete freeness of pitches for exhibitors, a rare advantage that attracts between 100 and 200 private sellers at each event. The only condition is to book in advance and respect a maximum of 10 linear meters per stand. This generous policy encourages a varied and authentic offering: country furniture, antique tableware, garden tools, trinkets, books, vintage clothing, and decorative items are displayed together in a good-natured atmosphere.

Chartuzac, a preserved village in Haute-Saintonge

Chartuzac is a rural commune in Haute-Saintonge, located between Jonzac and Pons, amidst the vineyards and sunflower fields that make this Charente countryside so beautiful. The village, crossed by small winding roads lined with stone walls, retains an authentic rural heritage with its Romanesque church and its white stone houses typical of Saintonge. Its proximity to Jonzac and its thermal baths, as well as the Cognac wine route, make it a pleasant stop for weekend visitors.

From 6 am to 6 pm, visitors and exhibitors enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The refreshment stand and catering on-site, managed by volunteers from the Comité des Fêtes, offer local specialties that invite you to extend your visit. Nearby parking facilitates access, and restrooms are available on site. Entry is free for visitors, making it an ideal family outing for a Sunday in June.
