The great three-neighbourhood garage sale, between Bagnolet and Les Lilas
The BALIPA Flea Market is the annual event of the association that brings together residents of the Bagnolet, Les Lilas and Paris-20th districts. Every summer, over 250 private vendors fill the Place du Vel d'Hiv and surrounding streets for a friendly, free neighbourhood flea market straddling two communes in Seine-Saint-Denis.
The BALIPA association – whose name is a contraction of the three districts it brings together: Bagnolet, Les Lilas and Paris (20th) – organises its annual neighbourhood flea market every year. The event brings together over 250 private vendors from these three communes, who spread out their belongings across the Place du Vel d'Hiv and adjacent streets, straddling the communes of Les Lilas and Bagnolet.
The area covered by the flea market includes the Place du Vel d'Hiv and several surrounding streets: rues de Noisy-le-Sec, des Villegranges, de la Chassagnole and Jean-Baptiste Clément (93260 Les Lilas / 93170 Bagnolet). The stalls are set up from the morning for a full day from 8am to 6pm, with free admission for all visitors. The emphasis is on participation from local residents, who clear out their attics, wardrobes and cellars to offer all kinds of objects at affordable prices.
The BALIPA association aims to strengthen ties between the residents of its three constituent districts. Its headquarters is at 110 bis rue de Noisy-le-Sec in Bagnolet. By organising this annual flea market, BALIPA creates a moment of encounter and exchange that goes beyond the purely commercial. The event is an opportunity for residents to meet up, discover their neighbours and put objects back into circulation rather than throwing them away.
The BALIPA Flea Market area is served by metro line 3 (Gallieni station), several bus lines from Porte des Lilas and the Les Lilas bus network. On-foot access from Paris is possible from the Belleville neighbourhood (20th arrondissement). The event takes place outdoors, with free admission.
The BALIPA Flea Market returns on Sunday 7 June 2026, at Place du Vel d'Hiv and adjacent streets, straddling Les Lilas and Bagnolet. Over 250 private vendors expected, free admission, from 8am to 6pm. Organised by the BALIPA association and Nardin Organisation.
