The Auzances Flea Market: Over Forty Years of Treasure Hunting Tradition

For over four decades, the small town of Auzances has hosted its annual flea market on the Place du Marché and in the adjacent streets of the town center. Organized by the association Culture et Patrimoine en pays d'Auzances Bellegarde, this event has become a highly anticipated gathering for treasure hunters from the Combraille plateau and beyond. The 2025 edition marks the 41st year of this tradition, demonstrating the residents' and visitors' attachment to this popular event.

The Place du Marché, Heart of the Flea Market

The Place du Marché in Auzances provides a natural setting for this summer flea market. Stalls stretch along the narrow streets of the town center, offering a winding treasure hunt route through this typical Limousin village. You can find regional furniture made of cherry or walnut wood, earthenware crockery, old tools, second-hand books, trinkets, frames, and everyday objects from the past. The atmosphere is relaxed, conducive to conversations between sellers and enthusiasts.

Auzances, Jewel of the Creuse Combraille

A former canton capital, Auzances is located at the crossroads of routes between Aubusson, Montluçon, and Guéret, on the granite plateau of the Combraille. This small town retains interesting architectural heritage with its Saint-Jacques church, half-timbered houses, and old market halls. The green surroundings, dotted with ponds and hedgerows, invite you to extend your day with a walk in the Creuse countryside. The town has shops, restaurants, and cafes to refresh yourself after your hunt.

Practical Information for Exhibitors

Spaces are available for 3 euros for a 2-meter linear stand, with a supplement of 1 euro per additional meter. Booking is mandatory with the organizer. The flea market is open from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, offering a full day of discoveries. Admission is free for visitors, and catering is available on-site throughout the day.
