Country-style brocante in Pressec manor's park
Each year, Pressec manor opens its park for a country-style brocante in Jardres, near Chauvigny. Around 70 exhibitors set up in the gardens from 8am to 6pm, in a leafy setting ideal for hunting for furniture, knick-knacks and curiosities. The 6th edition is announced fully booked on the exhibitor side — proof of its growing success in Poitou.
In Jardres, a small Poitou commune a few kilometres east of Poitiers just before Chauvigny, the brocante at Pressec manor has become one of the most charming rendezvous on the local calendar. The event takes place in the park of a private manor, at 16 rue de Bretigny, where organisers set up around 70 exhibitors along shaded paths and lawns. This edition continues the tradition of park brocantes, much appreciated for their setting and atmosphere.
Exhibitors — mixing private sellers and occasional antique dealers — offer a fine variety: old furniture (chairs, pedestal tables, small wooden pieces), crockery, glassware, antique linen, books, paintings, decorative objects, vintage toys. The manor setting encourages quality pieces, oriented towards decoration and charming brocante in the Poitou rustic spirit.
What sets this brocante apart is its exceptional setting. Strolling among stalls in a manor park adds an almost timeless dimension, conducive to real finds. Shoppers take time to chat, compare, negotiate. The atmosphere is relaxed, family-friendly, and proximity to Chauvigny (medieval city with five fortresses) invites a full day out.
Jardres is a commune of about 1,500 inhabitants in Grand Poitiers, on the RN151 connecting Poitiers to Chauvigny. The village has a discreet but real heritage: 12th-century Saint-Étienne church, old Poitou farms, several manors including Pressec. This web of rural residences bears witness to past agricultural prosperity.
The manor brocante fits perfectly into a getaway day: after the stalls, head to Chauvigny (5 minutes) to discover its medieval upper town, five castles aligned on the rocky spur, and Romanesque Saint-Pierre church. Poitiers (20 minutes) offers Notre-Dame-la-Grande and its Romanesque heritage, while the Vienne valley leads to Valdivienne and Civaux.
The 6th Pressec manor brocante in Jardres takes place in 2026 in the private manor gardens, with about 70 exhibitors already registered (edition fully booked exhibitor-side). Hours 8am-6pm. Antique furniture, crockery, knick-knacks and decoration in an exceptional setting near Chauvigny.
