Flea market and car boot sale organized by the parents' association of Francueil-Chisseaux, a stone's throw from Chenonceau
Francueil is a charming village in Touraine located on the right bank of the Cher, a few minutes' walk from the Château de Chenonceau, the most visited château in the Loire Valley after Versailles. Every first Sunday of June, the Association des Parents d'Élèves (APE) of Francueil-Chisseaux organizes a flea market and car boot sale in the center of the village. Individuals and bargain hunters meet there to find toys, clothes, books, dishes, furniture, and various objects in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.
The APE of Francueil-Chisseaux makes it a point of honor to offer various entertainment throughout the day: children's games, face painting, tombola, and creative workshops. The refreshment stand and catering, run by volunteer parents, offer cold drinks, homemade cakes, and light meals. The proceeds are entirely donated to support school projects: educational trips, shows, and educational materials.
The commune of Francueil is part of the community of communes Autour de Chenonceaux Bléré-Val de Cher. Its discreet heritage—Romanesque church, washhouses, and tuffeau stone houses—makes it a pleasant stop for visitors to the Château de Chenonceau. The APE flea market is an opportunity to discover authentic Touraine village life, far from the hustle and bustle of major tourist sites, while contributing to local community life.
