Grand annual flea market at the foot of the Pompadour castle in Corrèze
Every late August, the Allée des Marronniers in Arnac-Pompadour hosts a large annual flea market that has become one of the most popular in northern Corrèze. At the foot of the Pompadour castle, whose elegant towers overlook the town, exhibitors display their goods over two days: antique furniture, earthenware tableware, trinkets, folk art objects, books, vinyl records, and curiosities of all kinds attract antique hunters from all over Limousin and neighboring Périgord.
The Comité des Fêtes de Pompadour organizes this event with care, ensuring the quality of hospitality and the diversity of exhibitors. For an affordable fee of €8 per 4x4 meter space, private and professional sellers set up along the Allée des Marronniers, a wide shaded promenade ideal for visitors to stroll.
Arnac-Pompadour owes its fame to its 15th-century castle, gifted by Louis XV to Madame de Pompadour, and to its National Stud founded in 1761. The town remains a major center for horse breeding and hosts national equestrian competitions throughout the year. The exceptional setting of the town, between architectural heritage and green spaces, makes the annual flea market a particularly pleasant event for visitors who can extend their day with a visit to the castle and stables.
