Les Estivales Servannaises, historic street sale of Saint-Servan

Each early August, the Saint-Servan district in Saint-Malo (35400) hosts its Estivales, a large street sale that enlivens the shopping streets for two days. On Friday, the shopkeepers of the district offer clearance sales and good deals from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On Saturday, it's the turn of individuals to set up their stalls for a large car boot sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Clothes, books, toys, trinkets, crockery, and small furniture make up an eclectic offering that delights bargain hunters.

Saint-Servan, a district steeped in history

Saint-Servan is one of the oldest districts of Saint-Malo, located south of the intra-muros city. Formerly an independent commune attached to Saint-Malo in 1967, Saint-Servan has remarkable heritage: the Solidor Tower, a medieval keep overlooking the Rance estuary, the Cité d'Alet, a Gallo-Roman and medieval site, and the Port de Solidor with its malouinières. The district retains a dynamic commercial life around Place Mgr Duchesne and its adjacent streets.
