The big summer street sale in Mulhouse city center
Every year at the beginning of July, the center of Mulhouse transforms into a huge open-air market during the Braderie d'Été de Mulhouse. Organized by Les Vitrines de Mulhouse, the association of city center shopkeepers, this event is one of the highlights of the Mulhouse summer and attracts thousands of visitors each year from the entire agglomeration and neighboring regions — Alsace, Franche-Comté, Baden-Württemberg, and Northern Switzerland.
For two consecutive days, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the main pedestrian arteries of Mulhouse city center — notably rue du Sauvage and the surrounding streets — are taken over by more than 350 exhibitors. Permanent shopkeepers based in the city center and non-permanent exhibitors come together to offer a wide range of items at bargain prices:
The Braderie d'Été de Mulhouse coincides with the start of the summer sales, offering consumers a double opportunity to grab a bargain. The city center is enlivened by the massive presence of exhibitors, but also by the complementary programming offered by local businesses who take advantage of the influx of visitors to decorate their windows and offer special deals.
Mulhouse city center is served by the tramway and buses from the Soléa network. Five reduced-rate park-and-ride facilities are available nearby:
Favorable rates (4 hours at a reduced price) are usually offered on the day of the street sale to facilitate access for visitors by car.
The association Les Vitrines de Mulhouse brings together the shopkeepers of Mulhouse city center and works throughout the year to liven up and energize the heart of the Alsatian city. The Braderie d'Été is one of its flagship events, alongside the Christmas markets or the winter illuminations. This event contributes to the commercial attractiveness of the city center and the influence of Mulhouse in the Haut-Rhin department and beyond the borders.
The Mulhouse Summer Sale returns in early July 2026 to the pedestrian streets of the city center, mainly Rue du Sauvage and adjacent streets. Organized by the merchants' association Les Vitrines de Mulhouse, this large annual sale brings together more than 350 exhibitors, both permanent and non-permanent traders, for two days of great deals during the summer sales period.
Bargain hunters will find clothes, shoes, books, jewelry, home linen, toys, and various items at reduced prices. Admission is free. Several city center car parks (Porte Haute, Centre, Maréchaux, Réunion, Porte Jeune) offer 4 hours of parking at a reduced rate.
The precise 2026 dates had not yet been published by the organizer at the time of our verification; the 2025 edition took place on Wednesday, July 2 and Thursday, July 3, from 10 AM to 7 PM.
