Charitable street sale organized by the local branch of the Red Cross in Bourganeuf
The local branch of the French Red Cross in Bourganeuf regularly organizes its street sale at its premises at 28 rue du Billadour. This charitable sale offers the public clothes, shoes, household linen, tableware, toys, and various items at very affordable prices. All proceeds are donated to the social actions carried out by the Red Cross in Creuse.
Bourganeuf is a small town of about 2,800 inhabitants located southwest of Guéret, famous for its Zizim Tower, a remnant of the commandery of the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem where the Ottoman prince Djem was imprisoned in the 15th century. The town also has a rich medieval heritage and was one of the first towns in France to benefit from public electric lighting in 1886, thanks to the Jarrauds waterfall.
The Creuse territorial delegation of the French Red Cross carries out solidarity actions for the most vulnerable populations in the department. The street sales organized by local branches, like the one in Bourganeuf, help finance these missions: food aid, social clothing bank, support for isolated individuals. Buying at the street sale means directly contributing to these local actions.
