Toy and childcare sale in this village in the Pays de Montbéliard
Chamesol (25190) is a small village of about 250 inhabitants located in the Barbèche valley, east of the Doubs department, not far from the Swiss border. Every spring, this quiet village hosts a toy and childcare sale that brings together families from the micro-region: Saint-Hippolyte, Maîche, Hérimoncourt, and the Pays de Montbéliard.
The principle of the sale is simple and effective: parents sell toys and equipment their children no longer use, and buy what they need at reasonable prices. All kinds of toys, baby and children's clothing, strollers, car seats, baby monitors, children's books, and educational games find new owners easily at this sale where exchange takes precedence over profit. The approach is part of a circular and solidarity-based economy, welcome in the Doubs countryside.
Nestled in the Barbèche valley, a tributary of the Dessoubre, Chamesol is surrounded by typical Jura limestone landscapes. The commune is part of the Pays de Maîche community of communes. The restaurant Mon Plaisir, well-known to locals and hikers in the region, is one of the village's gastronomic addresses. The toy sale is part of the associative and community life of this charming village.
