Rivery, town of eastern Amiens

Rivery is an urban town of the Amiens metropolis, located on the right bank of the Somme, immediately northeast of the city center. Integrated into the Amiens urban landscape while retaining its own identity, it has modern facilities including the Jean Cayeux Socio-cultural Center, which regularly hosts regional-scale events.

A late November fair, strategically placed

The Rivery Toy Fair traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of November, a strategic slot in the calendar of Picard fairs. Four weeks before Christmas, parents are starting to think seriously about gifts, and attics fill with toys no longer interesting to their children after several years of use.

Consignment sale and community atmosphere

Like most village toy fairs, the Rivery one generally operates on a consignment basis. Families entrust their items to the organizing association during dedicated time slots, setting a selling price. On Sunday, volunteers run the stands, present the goods to buyers, collect sales, and at day's end return the sales proceeds (minus a commission) to the sellers.
