Toy, clothing, and childcare items sale at the Polignac village hall
Every last Sunday of November, the APEL of the Polignac school organizes its toy, clothing, and childcare items sale in the village hall and the old schoolhouse. This friendly event allows families from the Velay region to give a second life to children's toys and clothes, in a medieval village listed among the most beautiful in France, dominated by the imposing fortress of Polignac.
Polignac is one of the most emblematic villages in Haute-Loire. Perched on a basaltic dyke a few kilometers north of Le Puy-en-Velay, this medieval village is dominated by the imposing fortress of Polignac, the ancestral home of one of the greatest families of French nobility. Listed among the most beautiful villages in the region, Polignac attracts visitors and strollers all year round, seduced by its exceptional heritage.
Every last Sunday of November, the village comes alive in a completely different way: the APEL (Association of Parents' Representatives) of the Polignac school organizes its annual toy, clothing, and childcare items sale. The event is held in the village hall as well as in the old schoolhouse, offering an ideal covered space for this end-of-autumn gathering.
This sale is a precious opportunity for families in the region to find toys, children's clothes, childcare equipment, and educational games at affordable prices. The sellers, essentially individuals, offer carefully selected items for a second life. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, typical of village events organized by parents' representatives.
The APEL of the Polignac school has been organizing this event with care for several years. The profits from the event contribute to the funding of educational activities and school trips for the school's pupils. A refreshment stand is available on site for exhibitors and visitors. Table reservations must be made in advance with the association (€5 per table), and admission is free for visitors.
Coming to Polignac for the toy sale is also an opportunity to discover or rediscover this exceptional village. The cobbled streets, the dark volcanic stone houses, and the remains of the medieval ramparts create an incomparable setting. For families coming from afar, a visit to the Polignac fortress—open seasonally—can pleasantly complete the day.
