Original car boot sale in the Bozonnet hall of Le Bahut, former high school of Semur-en-Auxois
Every March, the B21 association organizes the Bahut Bazar in the Salle Bozonnet of Le Bahut, the former high school of Semur-en-Auxois transformed into a cultural space. This original event combines the sale of objects, furniture items, and materials from the building's renovation with a classic car boot sale open to individuals. The objective is twofold: to free up space in the building for upcoming work and to fund the artistic and cultural programming for the year.
Semur-en-Auxois is one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Burgundy, perched on a pink granite spur surrounded by the meanders of the Armançon river. Its medieval towers, its collegiate church Notre-Dame, its ramparts, and its ancient streets make it a must-see stop for tourism in Côte-d'Or. Le Bahut, a former high school now a multidisciplinary cultural venue, is part of the renewal dynamic of this small town of 4,000 inhabitants.
The Bahut Bazar distinguishes itself from traditional car boot sales by its cultural and solidarity dimension. The profits from the sale of items from Le Bahut are entirely reinvested in the artistic programming of the B21 association: exhibitions, shows, workshops, and artist residencies. The car boot sale area for individuals complements the offer, allowing everyone to clear out attics, garages, and closets in a lively and colorful atmosphere. The refreshments and food on site add to the conviviality of this day.
