Spring car boot sale on the prestigious Avenue de l'Observatoire, Paris 14th
The Avenue de l'Observatoire car boot sale takes place every spring in the south of the 14th arrondissement, near Port-Royal station and the Paris Observatory. This tree-lined avenue hosts private and semi-pro sellers offering clothes, toys, books, vinyl and bibelots in a remarkable heritage setting between Luxembourg Gardens and Parc Montsouris.
The Avenue de l'Observatoire car boot sale runs on Saturday 25 April 2026 in the 14th arrondissement. It occupies a stretch of this beautiful Haussmannian avenue linking the Luxembourg Gardens to the Paris Observatory (1667).
Traced in the 17th century by Colbert, the avenue crosses Marco Polo and Cavelier-de-la-Salle gardens with Carpeaux's Four Parts of the World fountain.
Sellers are mostly left-bank residents: plenty of books (university neighborhood), quality clothing, toys, dishes, vinyl, bibelots, art objects and sometimes fine furniture.
Extend with Luxembourg Gardens, the Val-de-Grâce abbey, and the mythical Closerie des Lilas café.
Arrive at opening for rare books and small collectibles. Bring cash.
