The May Day garage sale, organised by Anim'Asnières Royaumont in the heart of the village
Nestled in a meander of the Oise, a few kilometres from the Royaumont Abbey, Asnières-sur-Oise (95270) is a commune of preserved rural charm. Its annual garage sale, organised by the Anim'Asnières Royaumont association, is one of the highlights of local life. On Friday 1 May 2026 (public holiday), it sets up on several streets in the village centre, from 8 AM to 6 PM.
Between 50 and 100 private sellers take their places on the Place de l'Église, Rue Pierre Brossolette, Rue de Touteville and 3 Rue d'Aval Eau. This private sellers' event welcomes anyone wishing to clear out their wardrobes, cellars and attics: second-hand clothing, toys, books, crockery, small furniture and everyday objects pile up on the trestles.
Asnières-sur-Oise is inseparable from Royaumont Abbey, a jewel of 13th-century Cistercian architecture, whose gardens and abbey church host concerts and exhibitions throughout the year. This exceptional heritage site, just a few hundred metres from the garage sale, can enrich the day for visitors exploring the commune on May Day.
