Spring rendezvous for bargain hunters in the Pays d'Apt
Every year in late March, the Riaille lake leisure park in Apt hosts a vide-grenier organised by the Géopuces association. On the shaded lawns by the lake fed by the Riaille river, around 90 private exhibitors display clothes, toys, crockery and small furniture in a typical Luberon spring atmosphere.
The Riaille Park flea market opens the brocante season in the Pays d'Apt. From late March, locals and Luberon residents flock to the 8-hectare leisure park, northwest of town in the Bourguignons area. The Géopuces association, a regular organiser, runs this eagerly awaited spring event.
The Riaille lake leisure park is an 8-hectare site recently redeveloped: 215,000 m³ lake fed by the Riaille river, picnic areas, children's play zones, a certified family fishing trail. Exhibitors settle on the lawns under plane trees and willows. The atmosphere is pastoral, ideal for a family stroll between the stalls.
A private vide-grenier offering varied bric-a-brac: adult and children's clothing, second-hand toys, books, crockery, small appliances, baby gear, decoration, sports equipment, vinyls and cassettes. Some stalls also offer vintage items and small antiques. About 90 participants attend, making it one of the largest spring flea markets in the Luberon.
Apt, sub-prefecture of the Vaucluse and historical capital of ochres, is famous for its Saturday market listed among France's finest, its candied fruit and Provençal heritage. The Riaille flea market pairs perfectly with a day in the old town, the Sainte-Anne cathedral or the nearby ochres of Roussillon.
