About L'Île-Saint-Denis Flea Market

Every late September, the City of L'Île-Saint-Denis organizes its annual flea market on Quai du Saule Fleuri. A flagship event of the European Week for Sustainable Development, this gathering reaches its 30th edition in 2026. Residents, associations and public bodies promote reuse and the second life of objects in a unique riverside island setting.

Thirty Years of Flea Market on the River Seine

L'Île-Saint-Denis is no ordinary commune — set on an island in the Seine between Saint-Denis and Villeneuve-la-Garenne, it has developed a distinctive identity, both working-class and environmentally conscious. For nearly thirty years, the municipality has organized its annual flea market, one of the oldest and most regular in Seine-Saint-Denis. In 2026, the event reaches its 30th edition.

A Flea Market Rooted in Sustainability

The flea market takes place during the European Week for Sustainable Development (EWSD) each late September. This eco-responsible dimension gives it a strong identity: buying and selling second-hand here is not just an economic act but a commitment to reuse and the fight against waste.

Quai du Saule Fleuri: A Unique Island Setting

The event is held on Quai du Saule Fleuri, one of the quays lining the Seine on L'Île-Saint-Denis. Vendors set up by the riverside, in a green environment where willows and poplars create a countryside atmosphere just outside Paris. Visitors stroll between stalls enjoying views of the Seine.
