41 years of tradition: the grand summer brocante of the Fêtes Committee, in the streets and gardens of this Vexin village
Avernes (95450) is a commune in the Vexin Français Regional Natural Park, some twenty kilometres west of Cergy-Pontoise. Every year since 1985, its Comité des Fêtes Avernes & Gadancourt has organised a grand summer flea market that has become one of the highlights of the Vexin summer. In 2026, the event celebrates its 41st edition on Sunday 21 June, from 8 AM to 5 PM.
The flea market route runs through the heart of the village: rue du Château, rue de l'Église, City Parc and the Orangerie form a pedestrian circuit lined with 200 to 300 professional sellers offering antiques, furniture, collectibles, vintage clothing and curiosities. Streets and squares are entirely pedestrianised during the event, with car parks 100 metres away. A fairground animates the day, and on-site catering is provided by the volunteers of the Comité des Fêtes.
What makes this event unique is its joint organisation: the Fêtes Committee brings together volunteers from both Avernes and Gadancourt, two neighbouring Vexin limestone villages. This intermunicipal cooperation gives the flea market a solid territorial foundation and a long-established organisational capacity.
