The ALVA Brocante: sixty years of passion at the heart of Ville-d'Avray

Ville-d'Avray (92410) is one of the hidden gems of Hauts-de-Seine. Nestled between Corot's Ponds, the Parc de Saint-Cloud and the Fausses-Reposes forest, this commune of around 11,000 residents is one of the most wooded and preserved in the inner Paris suburbs. Its name is inseparable from Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot (1796-1875), the great French landscape painter who retired here and captured, in dozens of famous paintings, the pearly light of its ponds bordered by poplars and willows.

In this exceptional setting — a nearly intact village 12 km from Paris — the ALVA (Association pour le Logement à Ville-d'Avray) has organised its annual brocante since 1963. With 38 editions in 2026, it is one of the longest-running brocantes in all of Hauts-de-Seine.

Around 170 sellers deploy each year on Place Charles de Gaulle and Rue de Versailles, offering antique and vintage furniture, decorative arts, paintings and prints (in homage to Corot and the commune's pictorial tradition), jewellery, books, and private jumble sale items. The proximity of affluent residential communes (Garches, Versailles, Saint-Cloud, Sèvres) ensures high quality, particularly in furniture and decorative arts.
