The Champagne Cap Collectors' Day of Normanville is an exceptional event in the world of placomusophily: with its 44th edition, it is among the oldest specialized events for collecting champagne bottle caps and muselets in Normandy. Every year in April, passionate collectors come from all over France, and even from Belgium, Switzerland, and Luxembourg, to participate in this day of exchanges and transactions centered around their shared passion.
Champagne caps (also known as muselet plates or placomusettes) are collectibles of infinite richness. There are tens of thousands of different models, produced by major champagne houses as well as small grower-producers. Each cap is a miniature graphic object that tells the story of a house, a vintage, a year, or an event. The most seasoned collectors own thousands, categorized by house, theme, or era.
The village of Normanville is located in the Pays du Roumois et d'Ouche, near Évreux and the Iton Valley. This rural Norman village has hosted this specialized event for 44 years, which has made it renowned in the collectors' world. The loyalty of organizers and participants over the decades testifies to the vitality of this passion.
The day is open to all champagne cap collectors and enthusiasts wishing to discover this hobby. Free entry or with a symbolic participation depending on the year.
