The great Loudunais agricultural fair, historic rendezvous

Every September, the small commune of Ceaux-en-Loudun near Loudun becomes the centre of attention for the whole north of Vienne and neighbouring Anjou, Touraine, Deux-Sèvres. The Ceaux-en-Loudun Exhibition Fair, run by Comitexpansion, reaches in 2026 its 43rd edition — proof of exceptional longevity and territorial anchoring.

Agricultural, commercial and festive fair

The fair will open officially on Friday evening 18 September 2026 with the opening night, then runs four full days Saturday 19 to Tuesday 22 September 2026. Over five days, it blends agriculture, craft, local commerce, popular culture and festive entertainment.

Comitexpansion, over four decades in

The Comitexpansion association brings together Loudunais volunteers and professionals working year-round on the fair. More than an event, a territorial project: promoting agricultural heritage, supporting short supply chains, linking rural and urban. Draws tens of thousands over five days.

Loudunais, farming and history

Ceaux-en-Loudun is a few km from Loudun, historic sub-prefecture famous for the 17th-century Urbain Grandier affair and Théophraste Renaudot, father of French journalism. Farming land (cereals, livestock, Saumur wine), the fair is one of the strongest markers of Loudunais identity.

Festive evenings

Each evening: concerts, music, dance, turning the site into a full festival venue. Visitors linger for the rural inn, terroir stalls, fairground rides.

Structuring local life

For Loudunais communes (Loudun, Monts-sur-Guesnes, Moncontour, Les Trois-Moutiers, Mouterre-Silly, Saint-Jean-de-Sauves), the Ceaux fair is a calendar highlight bringing together associations, producers, merchants and schools.
