35 years of miniature passion in Ammerschwihr

The Ammerschwihr Scale Model Exchange Fair is one of the longest-established model and vintage toy events in Alsace. For its 35th edition, on Sunday, October 11, 2026, it will once again take over the village hall of this intimate wine-growing village on the Alsace Wine Route, nestled between the slopes of the Grand Cru Kaefferkopf and the Vosges forest, just a few kilometers from Kaysersberg.

Ammerschwihr, a wine jewel of the Haut-Rhin

Ammerschwihr (68770) is a commune of about 1,800 inhabitants in the Haut-Rhin department, famous throughout Alsace and beyond for its vineyard classified as Grand Cru Kaefferkopf. This exceptional terroir, one of the few Alsatian Grand Crus to allow blends, produces white wines of remarkable complexity and typicity. The village, partly rebuilt after the bombings of 1944-1945, has preserved its architectural heritage and its authentic wine-making character. The scale model fair, by bringing together enthusiasts from the region every autumn, contributes to the cultural and convivial animation of the village.

• Vintage toys: tinplate, friction, or spring-driven vehicles, mechanical toys from the 1920s–1980s
• Figurines and lead soldiers: military, western, Native American, knights — complete collections
• Miniature military vehicles: tanks, trucks, planes, and ships to scale
• Original packaging and boxes: boxes, catalogs, advertisements, and toy ephemera

Seasoned collectors know the event and meet there every year to complete their collections, make exchanges, and find rare items. Practical information

Admission is paid. The fair takes place indoors, protected from the weather. Ammerschwihr is easily accessible from Colmar (D415, about 10 minutes), Kaysersberg (about 5 minutes), and Sélestat (D83 and D415, about 30 minutes). Parking is available in the village.
