Over 200 dealers on the Town Hall square in the heart of Val-d'Oise
Franconville, a town of over 36,000 inhabitants just 20 km north-west of Paris, hosts one of the most popular brocante fairs in the Val-d'Oise each spring. The Antiques and Brocante Fair, organised by the Comité Franconvillois de la Culture et des Fêtes (CFCF), brings together over 200 exhibitors – a mix of private sellers and professional antique dealers – on the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville. The fair has been running since the early 1990s and has built a strong reputation throughout northern Île-de-France. Every second Sunday in May, collectors and bargain-hunters descend on Franconville's town centre for a day of browsing through furniture, silverware, paintings, collectible toys, books, vinyl records and all manner of vintage objects. The railway station (Line H from Paris-Nord) is just a few minutes' walk away.
